How it started

Cargo Global was founded by Thai Tran in 2020, emerging from an unexpected opportunity during the Covid-19 pandemic. When a major Vietnamese airline invited him to establish charter cargo services between the UK and Vietnam, Thai recognised a significant opportunity despite the widespread travel and cargo restrictions in Europe and Asia. He assembled a team to launch this service with the airline.

The initial charter flights demanded meticulous planning, collaboration, and preparation, fostering strong communication between Cargo Global, the airline, ground handling agents, and shipper customers. These flights proved successful in terms of both revenue and increased brand awareness, building confidence within the team.

Current Leadership

Currently, Thai Tran oversees Cargo Global's overall performance, with a focus on corporate strategy, market and product development, and corporate social responsibility.

He also manages the company's day-to-day operations, ensuring optimal service delivery to customers.

Thai's extensive background in team management and leadership includes roles such as project team leader at prominent organizations across various sectors. These include VietinBank (Vietnam's second-largest bank), Clean Energy Pipeline (a renewables data platform), The Lawyer (a leading legal publication), Centaur Media Group plc (a leading UK media group), and TT Meridian (a trade and logistics company).

Thai Tran holds a master’s degree with distinction from St Andrews University and a bachelor’s degree from Hanoi Foreign Trade University.
